The burritos themselves are very good. The wait time is anywhere from 10-15 minutes, depending on the number of customers. The burritos are filling. They have many different combinations to choose from. 3 meats, 3 Veggies, and about 5 sauces you can choose from, and many different toppings (so to speak). The jalapeno's are a must. They did mess up an order once, but I liked it so I didn't complain. I have yet to get a bad order since.

Bike Man loves that shrimpy burrito! Hot baby, this place rocks, not a great sit down place but a great local joint.

No frills, good eats. Fresh, tasty and a good value.

Had the best experience here while on vacation. Such a great experience, in fact, that I came back for another burrito! The ingredients here are so, so fresh. Everything is made to order, so expect to wait for your food, however, the wait is well worth it. I had the fish burrito with mango habanero sauce, fresh cilantro, sour cream, and jalapeños, as well as a fish/shrimp mixed burrito with mango hab, cilantro, sour cream & queso fresco. Both were FANTASTIC!! There isn't much room to sit, so it's probably best to order to go (especially during busy hours), but if you do eat there they serve you fresh pico de gallo and chips with lime-garnished water in mason jars. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Make sure you grab cash! They don't take credit cards. You can grab cash at the ATM across the street, or walk up to CVS a little down the road to get cash back and avoid the ATM fee. Yum!!

Bad Boy Burrito is primarily a delivery/take-out joint, which we didn't realize before trekking there in 95 degree weather. There are but two stools and a single counter for eat-in, so take this into account. We had an extremely long, almost inexcusable (I say almost because they were very apologetic and the food was so good once it finally came out) wait due to a back up of delivery orders. BBB is yet another admirable eatery for sourcing fresh LOCAL seafood, such as the fish of the day (which escapes me) in their fish tacos, which were excellent. I was thrilled to see one of the guys behind the counter look at our order slip, then reach into a fridge and pull out an enormous whole fish! Grilled and placed on the taco, the morsels of fresh fish needed no gussying beyond some cabbage and guac. Delicious C ordered a trio of tacos-- one each of beef, pork, and chicken. (Mine was definitely better.) We were happy that we were able to sit down at the counter because this was not a portable lunch. A burrito would be a better option on-the-go. Oddly, the rice that came on the side a la rice and beans was white, long grained, and sticky, almost like sushi rice in its consistency. This was the only thing I wasn't crazy about. Well, that and the bathroom, which deserves negative 10 stars. Avoid it. That's all I'll say.

Note: Although the address is correct, it does not show up correctly on the map on this page. It's at the corner of Simonton & United. It was right next to our hotel, Best Western Hibiscus. An easy stumble when you're hungover. By the way, stay here if you have the chance. It's an incredible location for less money than the Southernmost Hotel. They're practically right next to each other. I can only attest to the Breakfast Burrito, but it was fantastic. Extremely fresh with all the toppings you desire. It was a good size for the money. I also had some hibiscus iced tea, which was refreshing. It's a small place but the atmosphere fits well with Key West. You can see all of their ingredients at the front counter window. They have cool art and newspaper articles on the walls. It's an enjoyable little place to wait in while they are making your food. I highly recommend check this place out.

Delicious! They had a stand at the Mel Fisher Days festival yesterday, and I ate there at two different times throughout the event. =/ I had their verde beef tacos each time. Seriously two of the best tacos I've ever had... which is saying a lot, coming from a Southern California girl. Fresh jalapeños, awesome pico de gallo, and the green sauce was ridiculously tasty!

Kobe beef, verde sauce and jalapeños - need I say more?

My Fiancé and I ate here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon while vacationing in Key West. We both thought it was the BEST burrito we ever had. I had the pork and he had the shrimp. Both were a good size and the taste was very fresh and right on. We also had the lime aid to drink which was amazing. The place is very small and more like a take-out joint. The burritos were $6,$8, or $9 with many different options to chose from. The wait was about 10 minutes and the staff was very friendly. It's cash only but there is an ATM across the street for a $.80 charge.

Terrific burritos for $8-$9. Definitely recommend the shrimp. Store is a little warm, so feel free to wait outside. Burritos take about 10 mins to make ... but worth it!

I ordered an egg burrito their version of huevos rancheros. It took 20 minutes to prepare. The egg burrito was soggy and fairly flavorless. Their version of huevos ranchos were essentially 3 tiny scrambled egg and chorizo tacos, though I didnt find any chorizo in the taco, with a side of rice and beans and pico de gallo. I'm completely baffled that they call this dish huevos rancheros as it does not resemble in the slightest way the true dish of its namesake. Their red chili sauce is terrible. It's bitter and almost has a burnt taste to it. Also as others have said, the management/woman who works the counter, has an attitude. When I asked for a extra fork, her nasty response was, "there's 2 already in there". Yes, I know you're hip and all eco friendly but an extra fork ain't killin' the rainforest.

Good burritos, we tried the fish (yellowtail) and a design-your-own Kobe beef concoction. Fresh ingredients and tender tortillas, and not overfilled with rice and beans. The fish burrito was good, but needed just a little something. The beef was delicious, flavorful and good texture. I wanted to get the shrimp tacos but my Aunt talked me ou of it, I kinda regret that and hope to try them another time! Beware the wait! Go right when it opens to avoid it.

Wow. I got the beef tacos (I usually like them crispy, but those are hard to find at nicer Mexican joints) and they were amazing. I wish I had taken a photo because the presentation was great too. The woman who brought them to me asked if I didn't maybe want some cilantro, I took the hint and she took them back for a sprinkling, which looked and tasted great. My wife loved them too. 3 tacos for $10 and they were really special.

Holy burrito awesomeness, why can't this place be located closer to me? A ton of options for your burrito but I went with the fish, i mean c'mon it was my last day in Key West. The fish itself was fresh and perfectly grilled, along with the delicious beans and rice, ancho sauce, verde salsa, cabbage, onions, and avocado this burrito was definitely 5 stars. I wish I was going to be here longer to try out all the other options, kobe beef? fresh shrimp? the possibilities are endlessly enticing. I also paired it with a delicious and refreshing cup of hibiscus tea..my only gripe honestly is the lack of straws even though my drink was served with a lid that included a hole for one...weird. It's cash only too so come prepared. They are primarily take out, though there are a couple benches and a small counter if you are dying to dine in, take my advice though and walk a couple blocks over to the beach and enjoy your burrito there, definitely the Key West way to have lunch.

The duck confit was soooo good! I got it "naked" (in a bowl) and was blown away. Only waited for a few mins and sipped on their homemade limeade. A must-eat when in Key West.

I wanted to try this place ever since I saw DD and D. Unfortunately, like most places that Guy visited, fame and press probably affected the quality of food and service. I ordered 2 fish tacos ($8) and 3 chicken tacos ($8). I asked for no cheese or sour cream but I got them anyway... The tacos were tiny and did not taste like they were home made. The fish tacos were decent and the chicken tacos were bland. Def not worth $20 (after tax and tip) for 5 smell tacos. There are so many great restaurants in key west. Don't waste your time and money here...

  • Craig J.

We got 2 different burritos: shrimp and steak, as well as a Duo order of fish-of-the-day (hogfish in this case). The food was excellent. The meats seemed to be of high quality as did the veggies, and the presentation was great. One star was lost for the portion size. The tacos were TINY for the price, and the burritos were half the size of what I expected for the cost. A second star was removed for the service & atmosphere. The cashier was very quick to rush us through ordering, and the limited amounts of seating distracted from the experience. Yes, it's Key West, things are expensive, people are weird, and space is limited. Still though, it could have been better.

This review is specifically for the smoothie. I went up to the window and asked the girl for the smoothie menu. She said it's on the board. The outside chalk board said... Smoothies - Blue or Green (see pic). Now I don't think of myself as a smoothie novice, but what the heck does that mean? So I asked her. She said she thinks they have papaya, pineapple, blueberries (maybe one other fruit, can't recall) with orange juice. The green one is spinach and kale. Gee! Way to be creative selling them. *sarcasm* With the limited options I went ahead and ordered the Blue. She proceeded to whip it up in the blender and away I went. Hello? There was no ice in it! It was just thin whipped fruit and orange juice in a small plastic cup for $6. Too boot, a very large tip jar was positioned right in front of you at the counter, so I threw in another buck before tasting it. My stupidity. I made it one block before finishing the entire drink tossing it in the trash can. A good smoothie usually lasts me the entire trek across the island. I was furious. Whipped fruit and O.J. on a midsummer's day in the subtropics does not a refreshing drink make. BOTTOM LINE - Don't buy your smoothies here. Go around the corner to the Smoothie Shuttle.

Rolled up in my fly scooter and ordered a 'duo' of two skrimp tacos for $8. About 20 minutes later I rolled off. About 5 minutes later I got home. About 1 minute later I finished the miniscule tacos. Fucking $8 for two tacos. So that's about $2/skrimp. I have to admit, it was tasty, but having to wait 20 minutes and pay $2/skrimp... fuck that. 'Best Fish Tacos in Ensenada" in Los Feliz is half the price, and much better. Sorry, but never again.

Its an OK place. I had the Key West Shrimp Burrito and it was perfectly average. I didn't get the pineapple habanero on there so maybe that would put it over the edge...? Not sure I would recommend to visitors.

It is not very often that yelp steers me wrong, but Bad Boy Burrito was disappointing. We placed our orderly quickly at the counter (cash only). However, it was not busy but they were so slow putting out the food. The food was average to disappointing. The best thing we had was the guacamole. It was nice and spicy although the portion was small (this is a reoccurring theme). My fish tacos had a VERY small portion of fish in the taco. It put everything else out of balance - felt like I was mostly eating a tortilla with slaw and sauce. It is a shame because the fish itself was cooked well and tasted fresh. However, the taco didn't let the fresh ingredient shine. The salsa verde was overpowering on the delicate fish and there was just too much salsa (which also made the tortilla a bit soggy). My husband ordered the taco trio with chicken, kobe beef and pork. He couldn't distinguish which meat was in which taco because there was too much sauce on all of them. He said everything was one note. His tacos were also very small and light on the meat component. The rice and beans as the side item were the best part of the main. It was also expensive (about $30) for what you get. I'll pass next time.

I was looking forward to trying this place, ever since seeing it on Triple D. Well, this was the first Triple D joint I've visited that was such a disappointment. I ordered the fish tacos, as did my friend. First, we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our food and there were only two people in front of us. Then, once we got our tacos we had to hunt to find the teeny tiny portion of fish on the two teeny tiny tacos. The flavor of the fish was completely overwhelmed by the other ingredients. The price of the tacos was outrageous, compared to what we actually received. We inhaled our tacos, left Bad Boy still hungry, and walked over to Duval St. where we found a great little taco truck that made some to-die-for fish tacos at a much better price. Save your money and go elsewhere!

We have visitors from all over the U.S. and almost always take them to BBB. Most find it hard to believe - especially those from Cali - that the best fish tacos in the Western Hemisphere are served on Simonton ST at Bad Boy's. Everything is fresh. They won't kiss your ass like the servers on Duval but then again the food is priced accordingly. Even better, grab your food and go to the Bottle Cap next door.

Was excited to try this place based on the DDD recommendation. Had a carnitas burrito, duck quesidilla, and pink shrimp bowl. The duck was VERRRY greasy (which says to me they did not take care to drain appropriately) and the shrimp that I was most excited about was just ok. The carnitas were absolutely delicious though and I loved the grilling of the burrito they do. Definitely better than some of the other mexican options on the island.

The burritos are unreal. Pleased the vegetarian among us which is not an easy task. The chicken and the veggie burritos were excellent, the ingredients fresh and the habanero pineapple sauce was delicious. They take their time making it well so we didn't mind waiting at all!

This places was great, I highly recommend the skirt steak burrito, best burrito I have ever had! My husband had the "el gaucho" local favorite and absolutely loved it. Fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked. The bar next door offers a variety of beer specials and has happy hour from 11-8pm. Grab a beer relax and have an amazing burrito.

  • Eric K.

I had a tofu burrito with mild salsa. I was good but not great. Definitely had better burritos. I'd agree that if there were a Chipotle on the island I would rather go there, the sofritas is better.

Bad boy burrito was really, really good. Located just a block off Duval towards the southern end of the island, S and I stopped in on our way to the ferry on our day of departure. There is a bar next door that allows you to eat your burritos at their tables. We had a couple drinks while we waited. I had a shrimp burrito and S had the Kobe beef. We both elected for a variety of different toppings. Wait time was a little long for a burrito but at least I know everything was cooked to order. I really enjoyed my burrito but my only complaint was that the shrimp weren't really seasoned so they tasted a little bland compared to the rest of the toppings. S really liked his Kobe beef. We will definitely return on our next trip to Key West.

My friend took me here when I went to visit her in Key West. It's a tiny place. I had the kobe beef burrito with tomatillo sauce, onions and cheese. It cost me $9 bucks and It was ok, definitely edible but I have had way better and my BF even makes better. I don't think i'd go here again.

  • Danna L.

I can't say the food is bad but I don't know that i can say it was good either. The flavors were muted. I got the flank steak and it was cooked appropriately but not seasoned. The sauces that you can choose didn't have any great pop of flavor. And for $12 I expected at least a good burrito. And better service. The girl at the window was terse at best and didn't really answer any questions with a good attitude. Would not go back. Would not recommend it.

I know good burritos...used to live in Texas for 8 years. The pork burrito was amazing. If you like fresh salsas try the pineapple habanero, yum! Prices were reasonable too. And for any gluten free people- they offer a tortilla free burrito in a bowl. Also lots of items are dairy free!

Here's the scoop: BRING CASH. I will write this again for those whiny folks who choose to review on the fact that a bank is located across the street with an ATM that anyone with a debit card can use. You've have been informed. So with that, I'll share my review. The burritos during the day (that's the restaurant's main offering before 5pm) are pretty good. I mean, being a Chicago girl who is used to 1,001 legit Mexican food dives with huge portions at fraction of the price, BBB in Key West is not bad. I've had the veg and meats salads and burritos. Yes. Yum. Now, after dark (6:30-ish), Bad Boy Burrito turns into a very amazing Indian Food restaurant, Bangalore Nights, headed by Phillip S. Phillip' culinary goodies invite your taste buds to take a trip in our tropical setting. While most of the offerings are vegetarian and vegan, there is the occasional chicken maasala. Be sure to try the in-house-made samosas, mango chutney, tempura pakoras, mushroom vindaloo, matar paneer, basmati rice, and much more. You can order some a-la-carte options or choose from small or large dinner offerings. A spicy, hearty dinner for two with tip will run you about 45 clams. You can phone ahead for pickup or enjoy a nice late night on Simonton. Oh, and one more thing...bring some cash.

I'm a local .this place WAS great .see date on reviews Got the grilled chicken on 11/14/14 It sucked. No grilled chicken now it's shredded ..like a food truck The rice was over cooked .sticky ..but the worst part was the master chief rolled it so that the rice n beans Where on one end and the meat n stuff on the other end. What happened to Bad Boy... next day i ordered a skirt steak burrito ..same problem.. meat on one end .rice n beans on the other...moving on to the Meat..greasy tasteless.stringy tough over cooked...extra greasy yum after 2 bites..i removed the meat n tossed it ..yes it was that bad i,m really sad.. Bad boy was the best burrito in KW..not now

One of the other Diner, Drive-Ins and Dive spots was Bad Boy Burrito. I knew I had to try it. Unfortunately we got there before they were serving their ceviche, but nonetheless the wife and I were able to try the burritos, lime made and hibiscus iced tea. We're happy we did. Seating is minimal with 3 stool seats in the front window and 2 benches. Service was great. Drinks: Limemade- refreshing. Good balance of tartness/sweetness. Recommended. Hibiscus Iced Tea- floral tasting and refreshing. Different, yet delicious. Recommended. Food: Pork Carnitas Burrito- stuffed with: jasmine rice, black beans, verde sauce, chopped onions, shaved cabbage, sour cream and cheese. Although many say it's like Chipotle it's not because the quality is better here and the burritos aren't as big. This combination and burrito were arguably the best I've had. Shrimp Burrito- stuffed with: jasmine rice, black beans, pico de gallo, avocado, shaved cabbage, sour cream and cheese. The wife said it was amazing and loved it. Bad Boy Burrito was quite the burrito spot. I'm bummed I wasn't able to taste the ceviche, but I'm sure it's excellent too. It's a MUST eat place.

BAD ASS! Always open, superfast service, delivery, best prices on the island, and the best tacos. Puts Garbo's to shame!

Nothing beats Bad Boy Burrito. FRESH ingredients. This is not your typical burrito. My friends always enjoy the spicy shrimp burrito but I stick with the taco trio. Such great flavors. The shaved radish provides an even fresher taste! The beans and rice are great. Everything is just so fresh and delicious. Don't miss it!

Saying I love Bad Boy Burrito is an understatement! I usually get whatever fresh fish they have that day (and it's always fresh and locally caught!) in a burrito "all the way". Kelly and Tom are a delight to see at the BBB window and I'm so grateful BBB exists in the island. My tummy gets oh so happy when I eat here!

There was such a mix of reviews on this place I was leery but we decided to try it out. First thing was the service. AWFUL!! I know this is a tourist location and the "locals" already know what they want and are the staff's buddies, but I guarantee that this place would go out of business with out tourists. The staff was very unfriendly and condescending, talking on their cell phones. So, it all started off pretty bad. Next the food came out. I'd have to say that it was not bad. I got "El Gaucho Ernesto". My wife got the "Key West Pink Shrimp". Our kids shared a "Roasted Chicken Phattie". The burritos were quite large. However, the bulk was white rice and black beans. All three were tasty. That being said, they were not worth the price. All in all, if I were one of the beloved "locals" I'd wouldn't eat here a second time.

    (2)
  • Renee H.

New location is a walk up window. We ordered a ground beef burrito and a chicken burrito. The food was served promptly, and the service was no frills. Food was great - sharing a burrito is the way to go.

Solid CARNICERIA Mexican food, with great service...even delivering to the Bottle Cap next door where you can have an adult beverage or three while you wait for your food! Good late night food. Give it a try if you're looking for some GRUB.

I had a really enjoyable (and quick) lunch at BBB while vacationing in Key West! Not much to it, so I'll keep it short and simple. 1) Tiny place 2) Cash only 3) Get the "green juice" 4) Burrito ordering works like this: pick filling (chicken, shrimp, fish, veggies, etc), pick sauce, and pick your toppings. It's served with rice and beans inside and you can tell everything is very fresh. I highly recommend a healthy scoop of tomatilla salsa inside! You'll be in and out of this place with a full tummy in less than fifteen minutes. Great find!

  • Alycia Y.

Awesome hogfish with beans and rice. Fresh avocado and cabbage. Delicious!! I would recommend this as a quick fresh meal. Refreshing hibiscus tea! Vegan and veg friendly options too! My husband had carnitas and was very pleased.

Waited FOREVER for a couple chicken burritos! After I finally got them, they were cold and super bland no type of seasoning whatsoever ! Not to mention the girl takin orders was rude ! NOT WORTH THE $9 . Do not recommend it to anyone.

Here's my scoop... Food: very average Service: unreasonably slow, unpleasant An unpleasant, unwelcoming, woman who had nice tattoos took our order at their street window. Asked her- out of curiosity- why their Kobe beef was less expensive than their skirt steak (which I thought was a good question). She replied "I don't know,, just the way it is." My skirt steak burrito was just ok. Nothing special. They forgot to add cilantro to my burrito. Cilantro makes anything taste Mexican to some degree. Mexican flavor was exactly what was missing. Our drink orders were mixed up. And, again, when brought it to her attention, she shrugged her shoulder and said oh, ok. Showed no interest in correcting the order. The huevos ranchero took about half an hour to make. The sauce and the beans should be already made, just need to cook the eggs. Shouldn't take that long. No explanation or apologies given for the delay. We will definitely not go there again.

We went after 6 PM - Indian food! The only place serving Indian food at 9.30 PM. A hungry and tired group of seven went in expecting Mexican food and expecting a togo order as we thought there would not be enough place for us all. We were so mistaken! We were greeted by a long picnic-style table covered with a clean white sheet and three candles sitting on it - as if they were expecting a group of seven to show up for a candle lit perfect Indian dinner. The owner Phillip is the chef and he makes very non-traditional but extremely tasty Indian food. We were delighted with his hospitality and conversation. He was not expecting such a big group at 9.30 PM but was so courteous and so nice to us. We got the thali combo. Phillip had some turkey curry on the menu which my friends loved. I had the vegetarian food. I will definitely remember our excellent meal every time I think about Key West and the unique experiences we had there. Certainly worth a visit.

  • Sharan N.

The remarkable thing about this place is Philip. He owns the place and runs it. He cooked us wonderful veg curry and rice in no time. He opened the place for us even its late and filled our stomachs. The place is small but I can never forget this place and I will go here the next time am in Key West

I heard this place was amazing, but I think chipotle is better... The service was so slow and the food was mediocre. The drinks next door we had while we were waiting were awesome though !

    (3)
  • Allison D.

Great burritos and tacos! Probably the best tasting tacos on the island. However the only complaint was how long it took to make. The place doesnt have seating so it's not sit-down style but it still took over 25 minutes to get our food. The guy taking our order was great and gave us two limeades when they ran out of ingredients for the beverage we ordered. My only recommendation for you is call your order in before you go!!!

    (3)
  • Kim W.

The fish tacos were amazing! Fresh fish with great ingredients and the right level of heat. The side of beans and rice and pico de gallo were a great addition to the dish!

    (5)
  • Erica M.

The food was pretty good. They were out of a lot. My biggest gripe was how SLOW they were. For two people we waited about 30 minutes. I think that's crazy for three tacos and a bowl.

  • Drew P.

Hidden gem where all the locals go. Amazing food! Tip-unless they have changed in the past 6 months it is cash only. FYI they are now in the bottle cap plaza @ 1128 simonton.

  • Terra H.

the only reason im giving this place 4 out of 5 is due to the fact they were out of ceviche on both of my visits. and i feel I can't fully size a place up unless I've had what I set out to. with that said...holy toledo this shit is good. i had fish tacos both times and I was beyond thrilled with them. if you like spice i recommend opting for the pineapple habanero sauce...it's a little spicier than their standard verde and the pineapple adds a hint of sweetness. the staff is friendly and fun which is always nice when you're bummed about missing ceviche. they apologized profusely and explained that they were still waiting on deliveries. do try the limeade as well!

    (4)
  • K K.

I will truly miss this Key West staple! For the price you pay, you get a ton of food and their are a lot of different ways to make your burrito! I love the Kobe Beef burrito and wish they could ship this food to me back at school!

    (5)
  • Brandon R.

I have never demolished a burrito quite as handily as the skirt steak burrito all the way with pineapple habanero sauce I had at bad boy. This place is a restaurant I will go to every time I go to key west no questions asked.

  • renee p.

We were excited to try this place. The woman who took our order was not very nice at all. We ordered three items - 2 "naked bowls" and 1 order of 3 tacos. We took our order the 4 blocks back to our hotel and opened it to find the tacos were missing and the one order was completely wrong. Crappy service and we didn't get the items we paid for. We won't be back.

    (2)
  • Kristy M.

Great food!! I had the taco trio... 2 chicken and 1 pork. Plus, the chips and pico. All of it was delicious... Just enough spice for my mild tongue. Laid back atmosphere ( great place to take kids). Nice that it wasn't a long wait for food. I would go back!!

    (4)
  • Nancy H.

Oh...how good was the fish burrito? So good that it makes me salivate just thinking about it! It's huge and filling (as are all the burritos) so make sure you go with an appetite. The house-made limeade is perfectly sweet-tart. Definitely going back to try something else. Wait times aren't bad at lunch; about 20 minutes. They take phone orders, so if you know what you want, call it in and avoid the wait. There are only a few stools inside and a two-person bench outside so you'll probably need to go somewhere else to eat.

Meh. Super bland burritos. No seasoning on the Kobe beef and the tomatillo salsa just tasted like puréed tomatillos. Oh, and the girl working asked me about my due date and when I said early February, she laughed and said "oh, I thought you were going to say earlier!" Thanks, yo. Exactly what I wanted to hear.

As seen on Drive in diners and dives went to this place because if the show . I ordered a carnitas burrito which was pretty good and my husband had the chicken tacos he said they were awesome !

Great place to grab a quick, delicious bite for lunch. It had been recommended to us by a local, so we decided to stop in on our way out of town. Pleased that they offered up a "burrito" without the tortilla as a gluten free option instead of having to ask. The pork was tender and juicy. The burrito and naked burrito were filling and hearty. There wasn't really any seating, so be prepared to take your food to go. Luckily we were flexible and okay with this option. Next vacation we will definitely be back for more.

The food was absolutely delicious. The duck quesadilla and hibiscus tea was amazing. The service was quick, friendly and laid-back.

For a great burrito at a reasonable price, come here. I got the carnitas with cabbage, radish and avocado. Most importantly, I got the verde sauce which made this burrito spicy and flavorful. All burritos come with rice and beans, choice of meat, and choice of 3 "toppings".

Maybe because I'm from California I can be a bit of a burrito snob but my wife and I found their burritos to be very bland. They didn't chop the carnitas up very much and just threw whole sprigs of cilantro in instead of chopping it up. I ordered the "everything" option and still felt the burrito was missing a lot of flavor. The hibiscus tea was terrible, unbelievably sour. The guy behind the counter wasn't very friendly, seemed like he was irritated to be there. Cook in the back was complaining about not wanting to be there the entire time we waited for our food. No bueno.

Found this place on urbanspoon, was really excited to try the ceviche and the taco trio. When I got there, the dude working at the window was super rude. When I ordered the ceviche, he flatly said they "don't do that anymore". Later I noticed only half of their menus had it crossed out in sharpie. Then I ordered the trio, a hibiscus tea and lime tea. He seemed really out of it, because I was speaking very clearly yet he asked me to repeat my order four times. It wasn't even busy, but I waited for my order for 30 minutes. Finally my order was ready, and he forgot about my drinks. Once I sat down and tried picking up a taco, they were completely soggy. I work in the food industry myself and I knew this order was sitting a while before they gave it to me. I was so disappointed. Raw jalapeños all over the tacos, they didn't even taste good. And the rice and beans were just bland. Seemed like a bunch of stoners that don't know the concept of simple seasoning. $18 not well spent. I wouldn't go here again. Lame tacos and the hibiscus tea was also ho-hum. Bad to a whole new level...

The Indian food here reminded me of home. We (A group of three) went for the buffet which consisted Dal (The best), samosas, Madras Chicken Curry, Mushroom curry and so much more.. Completely an utterly worth the $20/-. Philip (The owner) is awesome company. We got there around 7.30 pm and stayed through 11 pm and were entertained through out. He does not serve liquor but allows you to buy your own from the shops nearby and drink it at his restaurant. Bottom line, the best conversations and the best food you will find in Key West.

I'm really torn about this place because I loved the food and the service was good, but the bathroom was one of the most filthy, disgusting places I've ever been in my whole life. Like, dirtier than a frat house. Dirtier than a port-a-potty. It was so awful that I could barely eat after I went. I was actually appalled that it passed a health inspection, to be honest. And I had to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, which struck me as odd and unsanitary. I'll leave the details to your imagination, but.... just be forewarned. And bring some hand sanitizer.

Overrated. Had the fish tacos. They were small with very little fish. Way over priced. Have spent two weeks in Key West on this trip and this was the worst dinning experience by far. We had to wait nearly a half hour and it did not appear busy. I recommend you AVOID BAY BOY! There a too many great restaurants in Key West to consider eating here.

I tried the pork bowl. The taste was so fresh. There are plenty more of teas that i want to try during a future visit. The service was happy and friendly. When I came through it wasn't a busy lunch time so my food was prepared quickly. The seating is at bottle caps next door. Its a perfect place to sit outside and relax.

AMAZING! My favorite place to eat in Key West. The place is tiny, kind of a hole in the wall, but the food is incredible. Everything is fresh, as you can see by the refrigerated case as you walk in. All the flavors are just right, and they give you several options to choose from to make it your own. I've eaten here over 20 times and have not once been disappointed. They get very busy and the place is small, so I recommend calling in your order ahead of time.

It was our first night in Key West in search for good; we were greeted by Mr. Philip and it was a truly amazing experience from there. The food was amazing, and this is truly a non-biased review not for the fact that Mr. Philip was definitely a genuine and caring person, but the food was amazing. If you're from out of town or even a local who hasn't given this place a shot; go for it, you won't regret it. And say Hi to Philip for us lol

I have to confess I did not understand the current enthusiasm for fish tacos and burritos but after my fish burrito with Pico de Gallo, sliced radishes and the standard fixings I am a complete believer! All the ingredients were amazingly fresh, crisp or soft as appropriate. I notice some don't like the jasmine rice but I think it's clean, aromatic quality adds a certain sparkle to the entire experience. Washed the whole thing down with agua fresca: icy watermelon flavor with just a hint of sweetness. Great experience. I am worried though that I'll have to come all of the way back to Key West to get a really good fish burrito.

You can just tell they have good food, little place off the main street but good traffic, food is fresh, fish tacos were really good. Highly recommend it.

had the fish of the day burrito on two separate days for lunch along with a cold IPA sitting on the back deck...great location, great staff in the bar and the burrito stand...nice place to sit and relax and enjoy a great burrito!

This place is Key West version of Chipotle. They would have gotten a better score if they had cooked the beans thoroughly.

Yup, five stars! Why? What you read from all other people are bang on. Small shop, huge flavor. The ingredients are usually picked from the garden in the backyard, and there is just an amazing bombardment of flavor fro the minute you take a bite of your burrito, till the last bite. Seating? Not a very big place, and if you are lucky, you'll be there at a quieter time of the day, so that you can sit and enjoy your food, but you know what? You are lucky because you are in Key West, and if there is no place to sit inside, you can go and find yourself a cozy curb to sit on and enjoy this great eat. If you are going to be in the Key West area, make sure to put this place on the list to visit and grab some food from, you will almost definitely be a fan.

Seating at this place was was pretty tight so ideal for take out. Both the fish and shrimp burritos were fantastic -- best we had had on Key West. The watermelon fresca beverage was super refreshing and nicely complimented my spicy burrito.

One of the worst places you could go to for a burrito! There are many things that are wrong with this place. First, the lady with the tattooed arm who takes your order is downright rude and arrogant. Second, the place is overpriced for the quantity of food they give. Third, the taste of the food is below average! My husband and I got the steak and chicken burrito bowl respectively. My chicken bowl was bland with absolutely nothing "mexican" about it. It just seemed like they put something together (because they charged us for it!) to put in the bowl. The bowl was 1/3rd of what an average Chipotle bowl is in terms of quantity. They charged us $1 for the avocado topping but gave us only 4 small shreds of avocado! What a shame! When my husband asked the tattooed lady if we could park in the parking area that was in front of the store she arrongatly replied "Yes and No" and walked away without giving an answer. I think this place will do much better without that lady. And yeah, probably the chef too. Save yourself some money and don't eat here. There are MANY other mexican food options in Key West and I am certain almost anything will be better than this.

I have to give you one star Bad Boy for not posting anywhere in the shop that you only accept cash. I realize that you don't post this since a lot of people would just go elsewhere, but it really is not fair that you send people across the street to the ATM where we have to pay an additional fee to withdraw cash when we learn that you do not take cc or debit cards..$2.40 is alot of additional cash to spend to buy a burrito. Post your payment policy upfront which is just the right thing to do. Otherwise, the burrito was great and so was the smoothie. It's also pretty cramped and hot in the shop, so be prepared.

Not your usual fast food Mexican place. The food is FRESH, tasty and made to order. Fish tacos were delicious; taco is thin and grilled slightly. Steak burrito with chili relish, cheddar and verde sauce was hot but not burning so you could taste all the flavors.

Really wouldn't know how the burritos are since they have only been serving Indian food the 3 times we have tried to go. We would love to try them but after walking over 3 times and being disappointed I'm not sure we will. They might want to put on their website the Indian food thing.

Oh, holy hell. What a fantastic little shop. We just got into town and wanted a healthy snack to tide us over until dinner. We strolled down the street to Bad Boy Burrito after reading the positive Yelps. We shared a fish burrito with avocado, sour cream, queso blanco and verde sauce. The fish was so fresh and cooked perfectly. The verde had a splash of well balanced heat that really played nicely against the fish. Beans and rice were flavorful and not cooked to mush. We loved it and will be back again before vacay is over.

Had a wonderful meal here last night. Philip makes amazing Indian food in the evenings with options for both vegetarians and omnivores. Mexican during the day and Indian at night. I highly recommend it! Best meal we've had in Key West!

The menu looked interesting. The odd little spot at the south end of Simonton looked interesting. The whole juice bar/burrito, eco-friendly thing looked interesting. Just about everything is under $10 looked interesting. So after a morning of pedaling around the island had to stop for lunch. Tried the "Ernesto" and one of the make your own with carnitas, spicy sauce, cheese and red onions. The carnitas was fine, nothing outrageously good, kind of white boy carnitas. The black beans needed a little seasoning but a good reasonable burrito. Good size as well. The thing was, the bites that had the "spicy sauce" were really good. When you didn't get the sauce it was kind of bland. Should have gotten extra spicy sauce, and btw, it really isn't spicy but it has a good flavor. The Ernesto was supposed to have a chimichuri marinated beef in it. These guys need to learn how to make chimichuri sauce as throwing a bunch of parsely without the acid or the oil on meat just isn't going to cut it. This one was very bland but could have been great. Getting lunch in Key West for under $25 is pretty good. So in that way this place is great. But they've fallen into that "whole foods" kind of thing where any salt or seasoning at all is bad and that leaves things a bit bland for my taste. Could be great, but just A-OK. They've been around for two years now on Key West so they must have some following, just not going to rush back. Btw, this shows up at the wrong end of Simonton on the yelp map even though the address is correct.

Can't comment on the food, never made it thru the door? Stopped by on a Monday at 5:30 and they were closed. Since no hours are listed on there website, I had to go by the Google listing which says 6pm. Called the number listed and got a very lame/pitiful message basically saying we close whenever? Gee stop by another day and maybe we'll be open? Wow, really!

Excellent burritos, and a good divey vibe. Great for a quick bite while in Key West. Both visits, I got a tofu, cilantro, cheese, pico de gallo, black beans, rice, and cabbage burrito, and they were fantastic. There's not a lot of eating space inside, so prepare to eat in a cramped spot or take your burrito to go (or get it delivered!). Also, be sure to bring cash because they do not accept credit cards.

Good food but the overall experience doesn't quite make up for it. A bunch of us headed in here to order up burritos hoping it'd be a quick and easy option. It took a while for them all to come and the place itself was extremely stuffy making for a not very pleasant wait. Once they were finished they were (what seem to be conveniently) separated into bags of 3 with our names on all the burritos. I grabbed the one with my name and it ended up not being what I ordered seeing as it was carnitas when I had wanted steak. We figured out they all got mixed up but didn't want to bother figuring out who's was who's so just stuck with what we got. It was a filling burrito with lots of flavor that led one of my friends to wanting another one the next day. They messed up her order AGAIN that day making me feel like this place is not just very reliable. So as long as you don't let it get to you- it's a viable eating option just remember it is cash only!

We had two different burritos this afternoon for lunch. They were one of the best burritos that we have had anywhere. They were so good that we went for dinner. They serve an almost vegan vegetarian dinner. Sides of chutneys are just heavenly. Spent a few minutes talking with the chef and owner. And I was assured of the quality of food and ingredients used. Highly recommend to any vegetarians or otherwise.

Burrito was excellent. Sauces were excellent. Limited seating so good for picnic to go. Guy Fierri ate there in early January so it was cool to see it on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives after we got back from our vacation.

Everything on the menu sounds delicious but once I took a bite I was very disappointed. I ordered the chicken and it was bland and the overall burrito was kind of bland. Saw this place on the food network and it just didn't live up to my expectations I had built up.

  • Oliver M.

This is a bold statement but possibly the best burrito I have ever had..the place is small and hard to find and don't think your going sit in because they have like one chair..but the staff was super cool and the burrito it self was massive..when I took the burrito out of the bag I thought to myself that I wasn't going to be able to finish it but it was just so good I couldn't put it down.

Yes! Finally a burrito to impress. I've always been one to doubt that burritos range further than "good" to "really good." But Bad Boy's was great! A fresh, dense thing... we waited a long while standing in their toasty little store... but the wait was worth it. I got chicken, mango habanero sauce, and then sour cream+cheese+cilantro inside. We walked with our burritos down Simonton to the water, and ate them overlooking the ocean. Lovely! Burritos start at $8. Cash only. Two or three seats inside.

The fish tacos were the size of a nacho. It was hot inside with no seating. The place has potential but there were some bums hanging outside with a dog which made the curb appeal unpleasant.

My son and I were looking for a place that delivered lunch one day and ran across Bad Boy Burrito. After seeing that it was less than 3 blocks from the cottage we were staying at we changed our mind on delivery and walked over for take out. It's a small little place that packs a huge healthy and fresh punch with their food. Everything is homemade!! We ordered from their make your burrito menu where you pick one meat, one salsa and 3 veggie's to make your personal burrito. It also came standard with rice and beans. Mine was so good that a few days later I ordered the exact same thing again....chicken with mango habenero salsa, pickled red onions, sour cream and queso fresco cheese. I opted to add avocado for an extra dollar. There are only a couple of chairs and a small bar so you may want to plan to take out when you try out this place. Perfect for lunch!!

AMAZING!! I don't even know what more I can write because I was at a loss for words once I bit into my amazing burrito form Bad Boy! Lock your conch cruiser out front, and sip hibiscus tea while you perch on a bar stool in a cozy Mexican restaurant overlooking Simonton Street. Bad Boy Burrito, my new favorite eco-friendly eatery on the island, serves fresh, organic gourmet-style burritos, tacos, smoothies and teas to hungry locals. What the restaurant lacks in size it makes up in full, fresh flavors only organic produce can provide. Bow down to Badboy's menu board with its mix-and-match selections. First, choose your meat or veg, add a sauce and then top your tortilla until it explodes. I opted for the Spicy Fish Tacos. The fresh jalepenos added a nice kick without being overwhelming. The fish was seasoned well and not too greasy or overly crunchy. I almost left the organic flour tortillas on my plate, but something made me fill them with the leftover rice and beans. I've never tasted anything so heavenly. Light, fluffy and slightly charred, they were the perfect way to end the meal.

The staff was very nice. The place is cramped and has no air conditioning. When I am in environments like that, even if they have stellar refrigerators, I am afraid to eat the meat. Its a strange quirk, I admit, so I went vegetarian. But, i was still amped for the food. My burrito and my husband's burrito were only ok. It was a real disappointment. I know what they are going for - the thing that Portland's Laughing Planet has mastered, the healthy, cool, alternative burrito place that embraces pure, real ingredients. But, the taste was not there. I was really surprised by it given how high the reviews were. We also had to wait an eternity and we were the only ones there. The real let down was they actually served Tostitos rounds with the burritos. That was surprising. If you are a burrito place, you should make your own chips. Very strange.

Walked by this place while on vacation as I was staying at a hotel next door. Went there three times during my vacation for lunch as it was much better food than the usual tourist traps. Pluses: Super fresh burritos Friendly service Best fish tacos - had them with the Hag fish Priced right Minuses: Closed at 6 pm Must take out Overall, I was so happy to find this local spot for lunches!

Excellent fish tacos, with wonderful fresh ingredients. I was a very happy camper when those bad boys came out to me. I went on a weekday at 1 and it wasn't too busy. The staff was friendly and the food was great, who could ask for anything more!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
